Anti Terror Laws Breed Distrust

The Prime Minister has flagged a widening of anti-terror measures including the tagging of suspects and being able to prevent them associating with certain people. Police will also be able to hold people without charge for up to two weeks. Democrats Senator Natasha Stott-Despoja says that it’s time to revive the push for a Bill of Rights to protect Australians from the loss of civil liberties made possible by the new laws. President of the Law Council of Australia John North says the laws will create more distrust and social division.
