Letters from First Nations fathers to their sons hoping to shape future generations of fathers in Indigenous communities, collated into an anthology titled ‘Dear Son’.

Torres Strait Islander activist and author Thomas Mayor is behind the work promising wisdom and guidance for  fathers within the Australia’s Indigenous community. The contributions made draw from personal experience a and desire for continued embracing of culture.

While ultimately celebrating the role fatherhood plays informing generations to come, the misrepresentation and marginalisation of First Nations Australians permeate into the lives of the media personalities, musicians and ordinary men penning these letters, forcing reflection on the past in order to instill values for the future.

‘Dear Son’ is released September 1st, 2021.
