Deep Throat wasn’t the first whistle blower to speak out against President Nixon’s government. Thirty five years ago, with Nixon in the Oval Office, the Vietnam War was killing millions. Then came the beginning of the end of the war, when whistleblower Daniel Ellsberg photocopied and leaked 7,000 pages of documents that became known as the Pentagon Papers. Since then he has kept governments on their toes. Jonathon Lucraft spoke to Daniel Ellsberg about whether or not today’s press is doing its job.
