Amnesty International worries that the Australian government is going backwards on their refugee policy. They want a more humane approach, including protection for Afghan detainees who do not qualify as refugees and better conditions on Christmas Island. This comes as twenty-one asylum seekers travel to Sydney today to bury family members killed in the boat tragedy, a move that shadow immigration minister Scott Morrison has attacked the government for supporting.
