United Nations member states are preparing to elect members which will sit on the inaugural Human Rights Council, on the 9th of May. Amnesty International has published a profile of the human rights record for each state which has put candidates up for election, on their website. Advocacy Co-ordinator Rebecca Smith Amnesty is taking the establishment of the new Human Rights Council as a positive sign.
