Last week, Speaker Kevin McCarthy became the first speaker to be voted out of what is the most powerful position in Congress. Previously Kevin McCarthy had inherited the speaker position on the 15th attempt after five days of voting.

It would appear though that other candidates for the Speakers chair,  Scalise and Jordan, have even less support than McCarthy.  The rule that hard line Trumpist republicans forced on McCarthy whereby any Congressman could move a motion to vacate the office of Speaker makes it virtually any current Republican’s potential election as untenable given the tiny majority the Republicans have.
