South Australian Greens MP Kris Hanna plans to introduce legislation to the State Parliament next week that will relax laws regulating where we buy alcohol. He plans to make alcohol available in local supermarkets and corner stores. Kris Hanna spoke to Hayley Canole about his proposal. Hayley also to spoke to the national spokesman for the Small Business Association of Australia Jonathan Fowler, who says small businesses won’t be able to compete with supermarket chains. Hamish Arthur from the Australian Hotels Association also disagrees with the legislation, saying opening liquor sales to more outlets will increase the risk of alcohol being sold to minors.
