The aged care sector will soon be closely scrutinised as the government has this week announced another royal commission.
It is expected the commission will examine all aspects of aged care including the quality and extent of care offered to elderly residents, the challenges of providing care to the disabled, the impact of rising rates of dementia, and the opportunities and challenges for providing services posed by the ageing population in city and regional areas.
The royal commission is likey to start before the end of the year and be similar in nature to that currently being conducted into the finance sector.
