Hurricane Harvey caused at least two deaths and several injuries in Texas, where the most powerful hurricane to hit the United States since 2005, became a tropical storm,  and could continue to cause “extremely severe” floods.

The hurricane revived the trauma of Hurricane Katrina in the United States, which in 2005 caused a humanitarian catastrophe with more than 1,800 deaths and the destruction of whole neighbourhoods of New Orleans.
