Advocates call for national legal approach to intellectual disability

Disability advocacy groups are calling for recent South Australian laws that improve the rights of the intellectually disabled in court to be adopted nation-wide. The bill aims to provide assistance for people who have difficulty talking in court and relieve them of the obligation to recount traumatic experiences multiple times.
