ACCC launches legal action against fake ‘Aboriginal art’

An Aboriginal art wholesaler is facing legal action after it was revealed some of the companies ‘hand-crafted’ boomerangs, didgeredoos and message stones were being produced in Indonesia.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission agency has taken action against Birubi Art Pty Ltd (Birubi), for misleading Indigenous art claims.
Over 18,000 of these Birubi products were sold across Australia at in key tourist spots over the last four years.
