Governor Palin- John McCain’s running mate in the US election- has brought the pro-life debate into the race for the White House. At a rally in Pennsylvania on Friday she called Obama a “radical” when it comes to abortion, and said the Republicans are the “defenders of the culture of life”. Commentators say Sarah Palin was chosen as the Vice Presidential contender due to her ability to re-ignite the fervour of the Republican party’s voting base – the Christian right.
