Bulldoze the houses down – that was one solution presented following last year’s Redfern riot in Sydney’s inner west. A year on and the dilapidated homes are still standing – but it’s the residents that are being told to move on. Project Director at the Aboriginal Housing Corporation, Peter Valilis, says the Minister approached the board a few weeks ago, saying he didn’t like the idea of 62 Aboriginal homes on the block. Mr Sartor has a different version of events.
