Aboriginal peak bodies want more from child protection reforms

Last week, the NSW government announced the creation of a ministerial advisory group and a Children’s Guardian role specifically focused on dealing with Aboriginal children in the child protection system and their over-representation.

Advocates say this is a step in the right direction but are calling for larger structural changes to be made to protect the next generation of Aboriginal kids.
