A million face poverty in Australia, a billion around the globe go hungry
At least a million people in Australia are affected by some form of poverty, while in the world at large, it’s over a billion. Well, in order to reverse that trend, as part of Anti-Poverty Week, hundreds of organisations are uniting across Australia to highlight poverty issues both here and overseas as. According to the national chair of Anti-Poverty Week, Julian Disney, the main issues being targeted by the various forums this week will be the effects of health, housing, education and the region where you live on poverty levels.
