Afghanistan is seen as a breeding ground for terrorism and a source of a lot of the world’s drug problems. The US and other countries are dealing with these problems by bombing and destroying crops. American journalist and author Steven Kinzer thinks this is quite the wrong way to approach the problems. His suggestion is to pull out the troops, negotiate , and buy up the annual heroin crop for medicinal purposes and for biofuel.
