Unrest between the indigenous and non-indigenous community in the Northern South Australian town of Port Augusta continues as the police continue to carry out the council’s policy of sending itinerant visitors back to their homelands. Glen Giles from Australians for Native Title and Reconciliation says local Aboriginal people are being unfairly targeted. Joyleen Thomas from the Women’s Legal Service says the tension has been a yearly event as long as she can remember as indigenous people come to the coast for summer.
