Finnish phone company Nokia is a rare example of a company that wants to make sure that everyone is being well treated and well paid all along its labor chain. French filmmaker Thomas Balmes was given complete access to Nokia’s management and his documentary “A Decent Factory” explores the dilemmas faced by a company trying, for whatever reasons , to do the right thing in a hard-headed global businesss climate. Balmes is attending an international documentary filmmakers conference and his film has had its Australian premiere at the Adelaide Film Festival.
