38 years since Independence and Fiji celebrates its national day tomorrow. However these celebrations are marred by the appalling political situation prevailing there. To make matters worse, today the controversial – Commodore Frank Bainimarama has won a court case over the legitimacy of his 2006 military coup. Thus ending all hopes for restoring democracy in the near future. The March 2009 elections is now a distant dream and Bainimarama looks poised to unleash new set of nightmares.
