When Bob Brown stepped down as leader of the Greens, he told the media one of the first thing he was going to do in his retirement was visit Miranda Gibson. She’s an environmental campaigner who’s been sitting in a tree, 60 metres above ground, for 126 days.

On the 14th of December last year Ms Gibson climbed to the top of the Observer Tree – a platform on an old-growth Eucalyptus in the heart of Tasmania’s southern forest. Both the Tasmanian and federal governments promised to protect the forest and Miranda Gibson has vowed to stay there until they do. With fully equipped technology, Miranda can to communicate to the world, highlighting the continued logging of the forest through video footage and her daily blog.
