It’s been six years since the 2019-2020 black summer bushfires raged across Australia – seeing destruction in several parts of the country.
Amongst the blaze – fires destroyed thousands of homes, killed hundreds of people, left wildlife severely impacted, and communities reeling.
Recovery efforts have seen the best part of three years in some areas, but as another hot summer looms closer – experts are urging communities, particularly those in regional and rural areas, to be alert and prepared.
To reflect on one of Australia’s most catastrophic periods, The Wire’s Tia Bailey spoke with CEO of Parents for Climate, Nic Seton.
