Indigenous students at one university in Sydney have launched a campaign called “Indigenous and Visible” to challenge stereotypes about Aboriginality.
The debate over who is and who isn’t Aboriginal was thrown into the spotlight when Andrew Bolt wrote a series of articles arguing that some fair-skinned Indigenous Australians identified as Indigenous to reap various benefits. The indigenous students at the University of Technology want to raise awareness among the student population of the Indigenous presence on campus.
