Bionic eyes: Sci-fi to real life
Friday, 31 August 2012
Produced by Samara Barr
Sight for the blind. This dream became reality for Diane Ashton, when the first bionic eye prototype was turned on at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital. The Wire found out more about this technological breakthrough for the blind community.

The three test subjects that had the prototype bionic eye transplanted last month were the first in the world.
