Hundreds of social services workers are meeting today in Rockhampton to discuss ways of making Queensland’s communities more resilient. The Queensland Council of Social Service says that despite the impact of the resources boom on the state, many people are being left behind. To smooth out the bumps between the good patches and the bad, the Queensland Council of Social Service is calling for a permanent investment fund, to make sure that there are always resources to help those who fall on hard times.
