The government plans to make the switch from coal powered electricity to gas powered electricity. It says this is key to lowering carbon emissions. But this transition to gas is taking longer than expected to set up.
The Resources Minister Martin Ferguson has said that the investment into cleaner forms of energy has been weakened by predictions of lower demands for electricity.
