Tuesday, 4 June 2013

Produced by Tim Roxburgh

Story audio

When the topic of industrial relations comes up in politics, you’ll almost always hear someone demanding more flexibility in the workplace. We’re assuming that they don’t meant workplace Yoga. Beyond that, it can be difficult to work out what politicians mean when they talk about flexibility.

We spoke to some experts who say that the whole concept is confused. They say because of the confusion, we haven’t even begun to do a lot of the hard thinking how to create jobs that will benefit both employees and employers at the same time. (Image by go interactive wellness on Flickr)
