We’ve heard it before - it’s the worst drought Australia has ever seen. So it comes as no surprise that tougher water restrictions are being put in place to make sure there’s enough water for everyone to survive. But according to a behavioural scientist from the University of South Australia, negative water restrictions like fines and water-off days are having the opposite effect with people using more water than normal in the times they can. Associate Professor in Psychology Jacques Metzer explains this effect

High level consultations have been taking place at the headquarters of the NATO alliance in Brussels on trouble with running civil assistance programs during the Taliban insurrection in Afghanistan. But UN deputy in Afghanistan Chris Alexander and NATO’s senior civilian representative in Afghanistan Ambassador Darn Evatts say strong progress is being made despite the fighting.

Burma is a country under the strict control of a military junta. Everyday countless human rights abuses take place in the country because the Government isn’t doing enough to protect it’s citizens from being exploited. And now it seems a well-known international car company from the outside has stepped in to fund a project that may lead to more human rights violations. Luke White-ington from the Australian Coalition for Democracy in Burma organised a rally for the streets of Sydney today and he explains why they were marching.

Who killed the electric car?You might’ve heard about this documentary, which is in cinemas at the moment.It explores what happened to a fleet of electric cars which were recalled by their manufacturer in California in the 90s, then unceremoniously destroyed.Well, in Adelaide this week, a little electric car known as the Reeva was due to be crushed into a cube.But the government has granted a three month stay of execution, while it undergoes further testing.
